Overview
Founded in 1929, Kasumigaseki Country Club is among the oldest and most storied golf clubs in Japan. The East Course was originally designed by Kinya Fujita and Shirou Akaboshi, redesigned in the 1930s by C.H. Alison, and most recently remodeled by Tom Fazio ahead of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where it served as the host venue for both the men's and women's golf competitions.
The club's history includes hosting the 1957 Canada Cup, an event credited with sparking Japan's golf boom, as well as multiple Japan Opens and the Japan Women's Open. Kasumigaseki remains a private, members-only club, reflecting its status as one of Japan's most exclusive and historically significant courses.
