Overview
The Gotemba Course is the flagship layout of the Taiheiyo Club, Japan's largest golf club group with 17 courses nationwide. Designed in 1977 by Shunsuke Kato and later remodeled in 2018 by Rees Jones and Bryce Swanson, the 18-hole, par 72 course sits on the southeastern flank of Mount Fuji, with the mountain visible across much of the layout.
Gotemba has hosted more than two decades of professional tournaments, including the Taiheiyo Masters and the World Golf Championships World Cup in 2001. It is consistently ranked among Japan's top courses and is considered by many international visitors to be an essential stop on any serious Japan golf itinerary.
